Scholarship offers $1000 to a graduating senior who resides in the Watertown Unified School District  and who plans to do college work leading to a degree in the area of conservation or environmental studies.

Elks Most Valuable Student Scholarship 2015


Elks Most Valuable Student Scholarship 2015


The Elks National Foundation administers the Most Valuable Student Scholarship designed for high school seniors intending to enroll in college. The Watertown Elks Lodge participates in this scholarship program.
Students interested in applying for a scholarship may obtain information and the application online at http://www.elks.org/enf/scholars/mvs.cfm.  In order for an application to be considered at the District level judging, the application must be completed via a computer using the online application.
The student will supply the following information via the application:  the student’s work experience, community service, honors and awards, leadership and extracurricular activities, citizenship, family income range and status, and exhibits. The applicant must also supply a completed counselor’s report, transcript and ACT and/or SAT scores.
Applications must advance through local, district and state competitions to reach national judging. The Chicago office of the Elks National Foundation will notify the 500 national finalists by email.  To be eligible for an award, national finalists will be required to submit a secondary application online. The national finalists will also be required to mail their Student Aid Report to the ENF.

  • The scholarship application is available to your students now at http://www.elks.org/enf/scholars/mvs.cfm.   In order for an application for scholarship to be considered at the District level judging the application must be completed via a computer using this online application.
  • The student will supply the following information via the application:  the student’s work experience, community service, honors and awards, leadership and extracurricular activities, citizenship, family income range and status, and exhibits. As in the past the counselor’s report, transcript and ACT and/or SAT scores are also required.   • The printed application and supplemental materials are due to the local lodge (Watertown Elks Lodge 666, 117 N First Street, Watertown, WI 53094) on December 4, 2015.

  • The Watertown Elks Scholarship Committee will then judge applications submitted; the Watertown Elks Lodge awards scholarships to the top three scoring males and the top three scoring females. These top scoring student applications continue to be judged at the district, state and hopefully national level.


  • The 500 national finalists (finalists submitted by each state) will be required to submit a secondary application online as mentioned above.  This application will include an essay, college plans and more detailed financial information.

2015-2016 School Year 

The Wisconsin Antiques Dealers Association is pleased to sponsor our 8th Annual Memorial Scholarship competition for high school seniors. All Waukesha County, Wisconsin public & private high school seniors graduating in 2016 are invited to participate. 

Scholarships of $500 each will be awarded to three top-qualifying entries based on the quality of an essay written on one of the following topics: 

HISTORY & PRESERVATION OF OUR MATERIAL CULTURE:  “Why is it important to understand and preserve your family’s heirlooms?”  Include the history of your family heirloom(s) & attach a photo of the object(s) discussed.  If additional help is needed, student can interview select dealers at antiques show in the area to obtain more information about the object(s).  (See http://www.wisconsinantiquesdealers.com for show information.) 

FOR HISTORICAL SITE VOLUNTEERS:  “Explain the important role of volunteers at historic sites or museums, and their positive impact in preserving our local heritage.” (Documentation of volunteer hours at historic sites or museums must accompany this essay.) 

The quality of the essay will be determined by assessing content, punctuation, grammar, spelling, and neatness.  

GUIDELINES: 

2015-2016 Competition is open to all Waukesha County, Wisconsin public & private high school seniors. 

Student must have plans to apply for admission to a university, community college or technical school located in Wisconsin. 

Entries may be computer generated or hand written in English, on one side of 8-1/2” x 11” paper, 500 words or less.  Student may use as many pages as necessary. 

Student must compose the essay without assistance from others, but may use reference materials.
  
If reference materials are used, a bibliography should be included. 

Essay title, student’s name, mailing address, email address, telephone number and school should appear on page 1. 

All entries must be authenticated by the student’s Guidance Office or by the Director of the museum or historical society for which they volunteer. Authentication would include a note on official school, museum or historical society letterhead or a seal embossed with the name of the school, museum or historical society.

All entries must be postmarked no later than November 26, 2015 and should be mailed to:

Waukesha County Farm Bureau Scholarship 2015

2015 Waukesha County Farm Bureau Scholarship Guidelines

The Waukesha County Farm Bureau is making available four $500 scholarships to students who will be furthering in higher education or those who are already enrolled in higher education, and who meet the qualifications below:

  • The scholarship may be used at any accredited technical school or university for continuing education in agriculture or an agriculture related field.
  • Consideration will be given to non-agricultural field related application; however preference will be given to those that are agriculturally related.
  • The scholarship is $500 per student, per school year, and will be available to students in any year of their higher education.
  • Students are eligible and encouraged to apply every year, scholarship may be received more than once.
  • Scholarships will be awarded at the recommendation of the Scholarship Committee with approval of the Waukesha County Farm Bureau Board of Directors. The scholarship recipient(s) will be notified by Monday, August 31, 2015.
  • If no worthy candidate is found, the Scholarship Committee reserves the right to withhold the scholarship(s).
  • Recipient(s) will be required to attend the Waukesha County Farm Bureau Annual Meeting (Thursday, October 1, 2015) OR a Waukesha County Farm Bureau Board Meeting to receive the scholarship.
  • Payment of scholarships will be made to the recipient(s) after their first term of the current year and after they have submitted a copy of their semester grade transcript showing a 2.5 (C+) grade point average or better (due February 1, 2016).
  • The Scholarship Committee will base their selection upon:
·         Activities (including participation in 4-H, school, community and employment)
·         Leadership Positions Held
·         Essays
·         Letters of Recommendation
·         Transcript of higher or continued education grades
  • Preference will be given to students of families who have Waukesha County Farm Bureau memberships. Applicants 22 years of age or older must have their own membership.
  • Preference will be given to students who are Waukesha County residents.

The application form must be filled out and submitted to the Scholarship Committee by Tuesday, June 30, 2015 along with an essay and at least two letters of recommendation. References shall return their written recommendations to the Scholarship Committee in a sealed envelope.

STUDENT SCHOLARSHIPS

2015 Ashippun Lions Club Scholarship: 

The Ashippun Lions Club is pleased to offer scholarships in amount of $500 to graduating high school seniors and to continuing college students.
Applicants Must:
-Reside in the Township of Ashippun or be a son/daughter of an Ashippun Lion Member
-Be a graduating high school senior or enrolled in an accredited college or university.  Higher consideration will be given to applicants pursuing an education in the fields of health care(especially in sight and hearing oriented programs) or elementary education
-Have attained a minimum cumulative GPAof at least 2.5 on a 4.0 scale
-Submit a completed scholarship application by the due date (April 16, 2015) with all the necessary requirements

Oconomowoc American Legion Band Scholarship 2015

2015 Oconomowoc American Legion Band Scholarship

The Oconomowoc American Legion Band is offering two $500 scholarship opportunities for any Oconomowoc High School Senior who will be continuing their education with college or technical school.  Each winner is expected to play as often as possible with the Oconomowoc American Legion Band for the summer concert season including parades.

All applications must include two current letters of reference, one of which is from an individual in the music field who has knowledge of the applicant’s abilities.

Auditions will be held in May, 2015 on a date to be announced at Dr. Martin Luther Lutheran Church in Oconomowoc.  Times will be assigned depending on the number of applicants.  Auditions may be accompanied if desired.

The American Association of University of Women, Oconomowoc Branch, a non-profit organization that advances equity for women and girls through advocacy, education, and research, will award one 1000.00 scholarships for Spring 2015.


Eligibility Requirements:

  1. Must be a graduating high school senior girl, living in Oconmowoc Area School District, and be planning to attend a post secondary school for the Fall 2105 semester

Synopsis:  Inspired by the hard working entrepreneur Jim D. Schneider, this scholarship is aimed at individuals who have demonstrated interest and aptitude in pursuing a career in the manufacturing sector.  Manufacturing has many opportunities for successful careers in a variety of areas including automotive, metal fabrication, CNC, wood working and many more.  Jim has long been a proponent of continued education with a focus on self-improvement and self-growth and this scholarship will go to someone to aid in covering the expense of getting there.

Qualifications:  Taken or currently enrolled in at least (2) Career and Tech courses.  Desire a 2.5 or better GPA.  Must be accepted into an accredited Technical College with an intention of pursuing a degree in either wood working, metal fabrication, CAD or robotics.  An essay explaining the individual’s career goals, what degree they intend to pursue and how they plan to use that degree.
Must submit essay and transcript to OHS Student Services.

Official Transcript- An official copy of the applicant’s high school transcript provided by the high school staff in a sealed envelope must be included in the application packet.  Submission of an application along with the required documents for this scholarship constitutes your authorization for the JMSMSF Scholarship Selection Committee to review your academic record.

  1. Letters of Recommendation – Each packet must include two letters of recommendation (LOR).  One of the letters must be from a faculty member who has taught the applicant in the classroom. Each LOR must include the reference’s name, address, telephone number, and information regarding how long and in what capacity he or she has known the applicant.

  1. Financial Document – The submission packet must include a copy of the applicant’s Student Aid Report from the Department of Education or FAFSA.  If none of these reports are not available, the applicant can submit a copy of the parent’s income tax return (Submit only the front and back of the IRS Form 1040 or IRS Form 1040 EZ) for the year prior to the year in which the application packets are due. (WILL NOT ACCEPT INCOME TAX RETURNS OF ANY OTHER YEARS). 

  1. High School Senior Picture - A high school senior picture or a picture taken above the waistline and in color.  The picture must be an original or printed on official photo paper.  Do not submit any picture taken at an angle.   Applicant is required to print his/her full name on the reverse-side of the picture.  


  1. Essay – Each candidate must provide a 500-1000 word essay focusing on “Describing his or her planned undergraduate study and how he or she plans to apply it upon graduation” or “Who is your role-model and how he or she has influenced/impacted your life”.  The individual cannot be a relative.  Essay technical requirements: double space, 11 point font size, one inch margin on all sides, submit original only, submit in English, and certify authorship/originality at the end of the essay.  The essay will be evaluated on originality, content, thought provoking ideas, innovation, and concepts previously unpublished. Applicant must certify the authenticity of the writing at the end of the essay by affixing the below statement and then signing beneath it.
