ANNOUNCES THE 2013 (49TH ANNIVERSARY)
JOSEPH STAVRI MLS/CLS/MT $4000 SCHOLARSHIP AWARD

This award will be made on the basis of scholastic accomplishments, extra-curricular activities, written communication skills and character.

Applicants must:
1.      Be a resident of the State of Wisconsin.
2.      Be enrolled in an accredited high school in Wisconsin.
3.      Have completed the first half of the twelfth grade.
4.      Show the results of at least one of the College Entrance Examination test scores – ACT, SAT, PSAT – on the transcript of grades.
5.      Matriculate by September, 2013 at an accredited university in the State of Wisconsin with the MLS/CLS/MT curriculum.

                                    Carroll University, Waukesha
Marquette University, Milwaukee
UW-LaCrosse
UW-Milwaukee
UW-Oshkosh
UW-Stevens Point
Please note that students who plan on attending a 2 year UW Center for their initial course work before transferring to one of the universities listed above are also eligible, provided their undergraduate application or admission indicates that their intended major is MLS/CLS/MT.
6.      Be enrolled in a degree program in Medical Technology/Clinical Laboratory Science/Medical Laboratory Science.
7.      Submit application post-marked no later than midnight on March 1, 2013.
8.      Briefly specify reasons for pursuing a career in MLS/CLS/MT.
9.      Indicate the College or University at which the MLS/CLS/MT Program will be completed.




Additional notes:
  • Announcement of the Award Winner will be made on or before May 31, 2013.
  • The Scholarship will be paid to the Bursar, on behalf of the recipient (upon notice of matriculation from the university officials) at the rate of $500.00 per semester, for a total of four consecutive years, renewable as long as the recipient remains in the degree program and maintains grades satisfactory for graduation from the university and the MT/CLS/MLS program.
  •  Students pursuing careers in related medical or scientific fields such as bacteriology, biology, biotechnology, molecular biology, nursing, pharmacy, physical therapy, radiology are NOT ELIGIBLE for these awards.

Watertown Conservation Club Scholarship 2013

2013 Watertown Conservation Club Scholarship
Scholarship offers $1800 to a graduating senior who resides in the Watertown Unified School District  and who plans to do college work leading to a degree in the area of conservation or environmental studies. 
  • Plan to do college work leading to a degree in the area of conservation or environmental studies.  The areas of study could also include:  meteorology, civil engineering, science education, geography or agriculture.
  • Be able to provide information regarding their academic achievements, extracurricular involvement, and community activities

AXA Achievement Scholarship

AXA Achievement Scholarship

The AXA Achievementsm Scholarship in association with U.S. News & World Report provides $670,000 in annual scholarships to young people throughout the nation.
APPLY EARLY:  only the first 10,000 applications will be accepted. 

The application deadline is December 1, 2012, but if 10,000 applications are received
before that date, the program will automatically close.
 

Winners on the State and National levels



State Winners

Fifty-two winners – one from each state, the District of Colombia and Puerto Rico – are selected by our nonprofit partner, Scholarship America, to receive one-time scholarship awards of $10,000 each.

National Winners

From the pool of 52 state winners, ten are selected as national winners and earn an additional one-time scholarship of $15,000. This brings the top AXA Achievers total scholarship awards to $25,000 each.
Our scholarships winners are known as AXA Achievers. They are ethnically and economically diverse, but they share these qualities:
  • Ambition and drive
  • Determination to set and reach goals
  • Respect for self, family and community
  • Ability to succeed in college
Some of the remarkable accomplishments of our AXA Achievers include: establishing a nonprofit volunteer organization building wells in rural India to provide clean water; starting a literacy and leadership program for elementary school children; creating a multi-faceted anti-bullying campaign.

AXA Achievement Community Scholarship

The AXA Achievementsm Community Scholarship Program brings advice and access to higher education into every community in which AXA has a presence. Every AXA Advisors' branch office nationwide distributes up to twelve $2,000 scholarships to high school seniors who live and attend high school in their area.

Waukesha Kennel Club, Inc. Scholarship 2013

2013 Waukesha Kennel Club Scholarship
Scholarship offers $2000 to a graduating senior of a Waukesha County High School who plans to do college work leading to a degree in the field of biological science.  The recipient of this scholarship may re- apply to the Waukesha Kennel Club annually for three years for additional grants of $300.00 for the second year, $700.00 for the third year and $800.00 for the fourth year, for a possible total of $2000.00.
Applicants Must:
  • Be a graduating high school senior of a Waukesha County High School
  • Plan to do college work leading to a degree in the filed of biological science
  • Show an interest displayed in the field of biological science to include:  medicine, marine biology, forestry, agriculture, or wildlife management
  • Be able to provide information regarding their academic achievements, extracurricular involvement, and community activities

  • Submit two letters of recommendation

OEA Scholarships 2012: Oconomowoc Education Association

Oconomowoc Education Association Scholarship Opportunities 2012


The Oconomowoc Education Association will again be supporting students wishing to further their education.  Two scholarships for $900 each will be awarded to qualified candidates this fall.

One scholarship is available for graduates of Oconomowoc High School who are pursuing careers in teaching.  The applicants must have completed at least one year of college and must have been accepted into the school of education at their colleges or universities.

The second scholarship is available to children of members of the Oconomowoc Education Association who are high school graduates and are pursuing higher education in any field.

Wisconsin Antique Dealers Association Scholarship

5th Annual Memorial Scholarship WADA : 

Applicants Must:
-Be a Waukesha County high school senior in the Class of 2013
-Plan to apply for admission to a university, community college, or technical school in Wisconsin

-Must answer either of the following question:  "Why is it important to understand and preserve your family's heirlooms?"  Include the history of your family heirloom and attach a photo of the object(s) discussed.

or for Historical Site Volunteers:  "Explain the important role of volunteers at historic sites or museums, and their positive impact in preserving our local heritage".  (Documentation of volunteer hours at historic sites or museums must accompany this essay.)

The quality of the essay will be determined by assessing content, punctuation, grammar, spelling and neatness.  Entries must be computer generated or hand written in English on one side of 8 1/2 X 11 paper, 500 words or less.  If reference materials are used, a bibliography should be included.  Essay title, student's name, contact information and school should appear on page 1.

All entries must be authenticated by the student's Guidance Office or by the Director of the museum or historical society for which they volunteer.

Mount Mary Scholarship Opportunities


2013 Mount Mary Scholarships
Prestigious awards recognizing excellence in learning.

Caroline Scholars Program (6 students):  Full-tuition, room and board annually
Requirements:
3.5 Cumulative GPA
Acceptance to Mount Mary without provisions
Passion for social justice and improving the Milwaukee community

Applicants must:
Complete application, including two essays and a resume of activities
Selected candidates will be invited to an on-campus interview

Application deadline:  December 15, 2012


Grace Scholars Program:  85 % of tuition annually (30 students)- This is for students with a high financial need

Scholarship Amount:  85% of tuition each year for 4 years
Residential room and board grant available for students who choose to live on campus

Requirements:

  • Application to the Grace Scholars Program
  • Milwaukee Area students
  • Financial need:  Estimated Family Contribution on FAFSA of $2500

Applicants Must:
  • Be a graduating high school senior
  • Be able to provide information regarding their academic achievements, extracurricular involvement, and community activities

  • Must complete a 300-500 word essay describing your goals in the following:  future education, personal life, community/society service, and career
  • Must submit three letters of recommendation (one from each of the following categories - these represent 18 percent of the score at the state level): 
  • 1.      Teacher
    2.      Counselor or Principal
    3.      Community member {ex. Employer, physician, member of religious community} or family friend {family members are excluded} who is not affiliated with your school district.
