2014 Christian Scholarship Foundation



For the past twenty two years, Divine Redeemer's Christian Scholarship Foundation has awarded scholarships to Waukesha County High School Seniors.  Four scholarships will be awarded this year:
  1. $2000 to one male and one female
  2. Garrett Becker Scholarship: applicant who has overcome a significant obstacle in their life or if the applicant intends to work in the healthcare field
  3. Douglas Baker Memorial Scholarship ($5000) to a student for their Christian leadership
Applicants Must:
-Have a cumulative 3.5 GPA through January 1, 2014 ( an official transcript must be included with the application)
-Be a full-time student
-Have Lettered in one or more Varsity Sport(s)
-Participate in school activities
-Be active in church, above and beyond weekly church attendance.  Students must be members of Christian congregation
-Complete an application available by the OHS Student Services office or at www.drlc.org

2014 Professional Insurance Agents of Wisconsin :

The PIAW will award scholarships to successful candidates who are 2014 graduating seniors.  Scholarship recipients must be entering college and have a focus on insurance or a related field of study .  Applicants MUST BE SPONSORED BY A PIAW MEMBER.  A list of members can be found at the website www.piaw.org    "Membership/Find an Agency Member" or by looking for the PIA logo on agency premises stationery or their advertising materials.

Waukesha Memorial Hospital Scholarship

Pewaukee Arts Council Scholarship 2014

2014 Pewaukee Area Arts Council Scholarship:


The Pewaukee Area Arts Council (PAAC) is pleased to announce that it will be awarding college scholarships to talented students in the Lake Country area. Students that wish to pursue and practice their creative passions (dance, painting, drawing, theatre, opera, piano, poetry, set construction, video, animation, modern dance, photography, costume design, etc) are invited to apply. The area covered is limited to students living in the Arrowhead, Pewaukee, Oconomowoc and Kettle Moraine districts.

The scholarships, worth up to a total of $1,500, will be awarded based in part on talent and teacher/mentor
recommendation in the areas of visual, literary and the performing arts. Applicants must be graduating from a
public, private, parochial or alternative high school in 2014 and plan on majoring in the arts at a BA/BS or BFS program at a 2 or 4-year college, university or trade school.

Your assistance in bringing this scholarship to the attention of worthy students would be greatly appreciated.

Each application is due by March 1st, 2014 and should consist of the following:

2. An artist statement (100 words or less each)
3. Portfolio submission: two sample works (in digital format/jpg/ pdf OR flat reproductions /photographs,
8x10 or smaller). PAAC cannot guarantee the safe return of original works. For visual or performance
arts, a brief recording, internet link or demo CD is acceptable. Limit email attachments to 10mb.
4. Student should also request one or more teacher/mentors to complete the recommendation form.

in a sealed envelope to our P.O. Box.

UW-Madison Scholarships

Waukesha Chapter of Wisconsin Alumni Association
Applicants Must:
-Be a graduating high school senior from an accredited Waukesha County High School in 2014
-Attend University of Wisconsin-Madison beginning the fall semester of 2014
-Be able to provide information regarding their academic achievements, extracurricular involvement, community service, financial need and community activities  (selection will be based on these criteria)

2014 Ricardo Correa Scholarship

2014 Ricardo Correa Scholarship :


The Ricardo Correa Scholarship Foundation is looking for candidates for its scholarship. Students need to apply by March 1st in order to be eligible. We are looking for gay, lesbian, bisexual, or transgender seniors, or straight ally from a public school, who are going on to college. The scholarship is for $1,000, with the student who wins the scholarship getting half for their fall semester and the other half their second semester, upon successfully completing their first semester of college. Applying for the local, Wisconsin state scholarship will make them eligible for the $2,000 national scholarship!
            The national scholarship will be picked at the NEA RA in Denver this summer in July. Different NEA leaders (SOGI committee members, NEA-GLBT Caucus members, gay and straight members, male, female, state leaders, past NEA leaders, etc.) will be meeting to pick the candidate or candidates.

            Students can download the application by going to our website at Ricfest.org. They should go to the State page to get the application and all the rules in selection. Students will be judged on GPA, leadership ability <extra-curricular jobs, clubs, etc., financial need, and an essay on the gay heroes in their life that they have gotten inspiration.

2014 Oconomowoc Utilities and WPPI Energy Public Power Scholarship:

This scholarship is awarded to any full-time student who is a customer or whose guardian is a customer of Oconomowoc Utilities.  Dependents of utility personnel are not eligible.
Applicants Must:
-Be a full-time student
-Be a customer of Oconomowoc Utilities
-Complete an essay on the theme:  The Benefits of Public Power to Our Community.  Essays should be 500-1000 words, typed, double-spaced and include the following information:

2014 Thomas H. Lutsey-Waseda Farms Rural Scholarship


This award provides financial assistance to graduating seniors pursuing degrees that enhance rural communities.

Applicants Must:
-Be a graduating senior
-Be planning to attend an accredited 4 year college or a 2 year program/technical school then transferring to a 4 year program as a full time student
-Have a GPA 3.0 or higher
-Have a satisfactory ACT or SAT test score
-Have a rural or agricultural background
-Be planning a career with an agricultural focus
-Have a need for financial assistance

Must complete an application at www.LutseyScholarship.org and complete and mail Free Application for Federal Student Aid(FAFSA) and send a copy of Student Aid Report (SAR) to The Thomas H. Lutsey-Waseda Farms Scholarship Fund after you receive it.

up to $1750 and can be renewed up to 3 subsequent years for maintaining a 3.0 GPA  (award increases subsequently each year)

2014 American Hellenic Educational Progressive Association Scholarship- Milwaukee Chapter #43:


This scholarship recognizes academically gifted high school students and rewards those in our Hellenic Community who have achieved outstanding success. 

Applicants Must:
-Be senior high school students eligible for graduation
-Be a child or grandchild of a member of the Milwaukee AHEPA Chapter #43 family or Daughters of Penelope, OR, of Hellenic descent and reside in the four-county area including Milwaukee, Ozaukee, Waukesha, and Washington counties.
-Have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.00 on a 4.0 scale must be maintained.

Lila Draper Burton Scholarship


The Lila Draper Burton Scholarship Trust Fund was established as a result of a bequest by Lila Draper Burton, a Waukesha County resident, indicating her faith in the young people of Waukesha County and her belief in the value of an education.


Applicants Must:
-Be a full-time student
-Be a resident of Waukesha County
-Plan to pursue  post-secondary education
-Complete an application available by the OHS Student Services office


Amount:
 $1200/year for 4 years
$1800/year for 4 years for those attending Carroll College
(number of scholarships awarded is dependent upon the income of the Trust Fund, last year 15 were awarded)

Deadline:
March 15, 2014 to the OHS Student Services Office
3 applications will then be selected for advancement to the Lila Draper Burton Scholarship Committee based on:  scholarship achievement, personality and character qualities, school citizenship, ACT scores and financial need.

The Badgerland Financial Scholarship is based on agricultural leadership, activities, and interest in pursuing a career in agriculture or ag-related field.

2014 Simon Youth Foundation Community Scholarship
 

Scholarship offers scholarships valued up to $1500 to a graduating senior who attends school and lives in close proximity of a Simon Property Mall or Community Center (Johnson Creek Outlets). Must be:
  • A graduating senior attends school and lives within 50 miles of a Simon Property Mall or Community Center (Johnson Creek Outlets).
  • Planning to enroll no later than Fall 2014 in a full-time undergraduate course of study at an accredited two or four year college, university or vocational-technical school for the entire upcoming academic year.
  • Employees or family members of employees of Simon Property Group and affiliated partners are not eligible.
  • Complete an application available for downloading at www.syf.org/our-initiatives/scholarships/community-application and mail it along with a current, complete official transcript of grades to Scholarship Management Services postmarked no later than January 11, 2014 (ONLY THE FIRST 3000 APPLICATIONS RECEIVED WILL BE PROCESSED)

The Oconomowoc Scholarship Fund was founded in 1947 to provide financial assistance for selected high school graduates who have demonstrated both interest and ability to pursue a college or technical education.  It is supported through contributions and bequests of community members, businesses, students and friends. 

Applicants Must:
  • Be a resident of the Oconomowoc Area School District
  • Be a senior of Oconomowoc High School
  • Have attended Oconomowoc High School for at least four semesters
  • Be a prospective student of UW Madison 
  • Provide information on financial need, academic achievement, citizenship, career goals, etc.
  • Have a  3.2 minimum grade point is required after 2 years to qualify for the final 2 years.

Amount:
Tuition and books for 8 semesters at the University of Wisconsin Madison, up to a maximum of $8500 per year for 4 years or $34,000.

  • Must not receive more than 50% of your tuition, fees, room and board costs from other scholarships, awards and grants
  • Provide information on financial need, academic achievement, citizenship, career goals, etc.

Amount:
$1250 per year for two year program or $2500 per year four year program
**Students who remain in good standing are able to renew the scholarship each year of study. (Total $10000 for a four year program or total $2500 for a two year program)
