Elks Local Scholarship 2013-14

Most Valuable Student Scholarship - Elks National Foundation 2013-14:
Applicants Must:
-Be a graduating high school senior
-Be a U.S. citizen
-Must submit an application form that will be judged on scholarship, leadership and financial need.  Students will need to supply the following information:  work experience, community service, honors and awards, extracurricular activities, citizenship and family income range and status.
-Must advance through local, district and state competitions to reach national judging.


Amount:
500 4-year awards ranging from:  $1000/year to $15,000/year

This scholarship is awarded to any full-time student pursuing some form of post-secondary education in a health-related field (including medical, pharmacy, physical therapy, nursing, etc.).

2014 NCWIT Awards for Aspirations in Computing: for High School Level Females

2014 NCIT Awards for Aspirations

Who is eligible to apply:   The Wisconsin and national competitions for the 2014 NCWIT
Award for Aspirations in Computing are open to any U.S. high-school-level female (gr 9-12).

When is the competition and how do I apply?: Applications will be accepted beginning
September 15, 2013, and must be submitted online at www.ncwit.org/awardwi no later than
11:59 PM ET on October 31, 2013.

Winners will be announced in early December, 2013.

Why should I apply? Winners get cool prizes, gadgets and scholarships and can join a

Waukesha Chapter of Wisconsin Alumni Association
Applicants Must:
-Be a graduating high school senior from an accredited Waukesha County High School in 2014
-Attend University of Wisconsin-Madison beginning the fall semester of 2014
-Be able to provide information regarding their academic achievements, extracurricular involvement, community service, financial need and community activities  (selection will be based on these criteria)
-Submit (5) collated packets to include:
  • completed and typed application form
  • transcripts with seven semesters of your grades, copies accepted
  • two letters of recommendation
  • (also include two self-addressed stamped letter sized envelopes)

The consulting firm of AES Engineers is committed to continuing its support of higher education by providing scholarships to deserving students.

AES Engineers believe that achieving a high grade point average should not be the only criteria for determining who deserves to be helped. For that reason AES Engineers offer a scholarship that will be awarded on the basis of character, as determined by evaluating the essays that are submitted.

Wisconsin Antiques Dealers Association Memorial Scholarship 2013-14

Annual Memorial Scholarship WADA : 

Applicants Must:
-Be a Waukesha County high school senior in the Class of 2014
-Plan to apply for admission to a university, community college, or technical school in Wisconsin

-Must answer either of the following question:  "Why is it important to understand and preserve your family's heirlooms?"  Include the history of your family heirloom and attach a photo of the object(s) discussed.

or for Historical Site Volunteers:  "Explain the important role of volunteers at historic sites or museums, and their positive impact in preserving our local heritage".  (Documentation of volunteer hours at historic sites or museums must accompany this essay.)

The quality of the essay will be determined by assessing content, punctuation, grammar, spelling and neatness.  Entries must be computer generated or hand written in English on one side of 8 1/2 X 11 paper, 500 words or less.  If reference materials are used, a bibliography should be included.  Essay title, student's name, contact information and school should appear on page 1.

All entries must be authenticated by the student's Guidance Office or by the Director of the museum or historical society for which they volunteer.
