2015 Waukesha County Farm Bureau Scholarship Guidelines

The Waukesha County Farm Bureau is making available four $500 scholarships to students who will be furthering in higher education or those who are already enrolled in higher education, and who meet the qualifications below:

  • The scholarship may be used at any accredited technical school or university for continuing education in agriculture or an agriculture related field.
  • Consideration will be given to non-agricultural field related application; however preference will be given to those that are agriculturally related.
  • The scholarship is $500 per student, per school year, and will be available to students in any year of their higher education.
  • Students are eligible and encouraged to apply every year, scholarship may be received more than once.
  • Scholarships will be awarded at the recommendation of the Scholarship Committee with approval of the Waukesha County Farm Bureau Board of Directors. The scholarship recipient(s) will be notified by Monday, August 31, 2015.
  • If no worthy candidate is found, the Scholarship Committee reserves the right to withhold the scholarship(s).
  • Recipient(s) will be required to attend the Waukesha County Farm Bureau Annual Meeting (Thursday, October 1, 2015) OR a Waukesha County Farm Bureau Board Meeting to receive the scholarship.
  • Payment of scholarships will be made to the recipient(s) after their first term of the current year and after they have submitted a copy of their semester grade transcript showing a 2.5 (C+) grade point average or better (due February 1, 2016).
  • The Scholarship Committee will base their selection upon:
·         Activities (including participation in 4-H, school, community and employment)
·         Leadership Positions Held
·         Essays
·         Letters of Recommendation
·         Transcript of higher or continued education grades
  • Preference will be given to students of families who have Waukesha County Farm Bureau memberships. Applicants 22 years of age or older must have their own membership.
  • Preference will be given to students who are Waukesha County residents.

The application form must be filled out and submitted to the Scholarship Committee by Tuesday, June 30, 2015 along with an essay and at least two letters of recommendation. References shall return their written recommendations to the Scholarship Committee in a sealed envelope.

NAACP - Waukesha County Branch Scholarship 2015

-Must be at least 16 years old and must be high school junior or graduating high school senior
-Be of African American descent, citizen of the United States, resident of the Metropolitan Milwaukee area and may or may not be members of the NAACP
-Cannot be employees, ex-officio members or members of the Executive Committee of the Waukesha NAACP or close relatives(children and/or spouses)
-Must possess a grade point average sufficent to be admitted to an accredited college or university
-Must be planning on being a full-time undergraduate student
-Submit a completed scholarship application (no attachments), 3 letters of recommendation (one high school teacher, one high school guidance counselor and one personal  reference{NAACP reference is recommended}), official transcript, and copy of application for admission or letter of acceptance from college or university.  All these materials need to be submitted by the due date (June 30, 2015)

Amount:  1-$10000 and 5-$1000

Oconomowoc Memorial Auxiliary Scholarship 2015

Applicants Must:
  • Be a resident of the area served by Oconomowoc Memorial Hospital
  • Be enrolled in a medical field utilized by Oconomowoc Memorial Hospital (i.e.  Nursing School, Medical School, Pharmacy School, Physical Therapy, etc.)
  • Have been accepted in a college or university in the State of Wisconsin
  • Have maintained at least a 2.75 GPA in high school and/or college
  • Show evidence of financial need
  • Complete an application
  • Provide two letterof recommendation from a responsible citizen (teacher, counselor, employer, community leader or another individual)
  • A transcript of high school grades and/or any advanced courses
  • Provide an official copy of registration from the school you will be attending
  • Provide a copy of financial need (i.e. - Federal Tax Form or Financial Aid Form)
  • Enclose a recent snapshot or class picture for publicity purposes
  • Complete an application form available in the Student Service Office from Susan Verhagen, Counselor or from Naviance
Amount:
Full time students carrying a minimum of 12 credits at $1000/year ($500/semester)
Part time students carrying a minimum of 6 credits at $500/year ($250/semester)
Both scholarship are renewable for up to 4 years if student reapplies and meets criteria
Deadline:
Application with enclosures due April 15, 2015
